Chesterhouse School is a Section 21 organisation – a not for profit Public Benefit Organisation, NPO number 030-656-NPO. Established in 2000, Chesterhouse School has at its helm the Chesterhouse Board of Directors under the chairmanship of Steven Chester. The board and school management are responsible for all the financial affairs of the school and Chesterhouse School receives no educational subsidies.

The Board Executive Committee constituted of the following members Steven Chester, Ari Spanellis, Willem Coetzee and Justin Harvey, meet every two weeks to discuss issues that are pertinent to the operations of the school. In this way, the board is kept up to date with the immediate operational needs of the school and provides the headmaster with counsel towards the continued improvement of Chesterhouse.

The School Executive meets once weekly during the school terms to deal with all operational issues around the school. The school executive reports to the headmaster and attends all board meetings presenting reports in advance of the meetings to ensure that the board members remain up to date with all operational and human resources issues of the school.
In turn, the management structure is further divided into two senior management teams that are made up of teaching staff; the Senior School Management Team and the Junior School Management Team. Weekly meetings with the headmaster occur within these teams to ensure that operational issues on the ground are dealt with and managed successfully. A very important facet of these meetings is progress reports on the different curriculum areas and the assurance that subject meetings take place regularly between the Senior School subjects heads and the Junior School subject heads.
