Dear Parents,
It gives me great joy to let you know that on receiving the AS Level results on Monday morning, we were delighted with the outstanding results produced. One by one, our matrics of 2011 came into the school, after receiving their marks online and gave many Senior School teachers hugs and said thank you. I extend our pupils hearty congratulations on their achievements and look forward to following their progress as most enter the universities and courses of their choice. I also extend my sincere thanks to our teachers, some of whom were beaming a little more than the matrics! It gives them great joy too, to see that their dedication and hard work combined with the diligence of our matrics of 2011 has paid off so well. Well done to every single one of you. 30 Chesterhouse pupils sat the exams in October and November in 2011 and achieved a 100% pass rate. Between them, 49 A symbols were achieved at AS Level. Five of the school’s pupils wrote also sat the A Level exams which are more commonly written in the UK and between these five students, three achieved A symbols. Ten students achieved more than 3 A symbols within their total subject count, keeping in mind that a student has to take 4 subjects at AS Level in order to qualify for university entrance in South Africa. Many pupils elected to take 5 subjects to enhance their competitiveness for university admission.
