The Student Representative Council

At Chesterhouse our Student Representative Council (SRC) is comprised of one elected delegate from each of our tutor groups. Its principal role is communication.

Delegates are charged of finding out from their tutor groups what their concerns are; making sure that these concerns are aired at SRC meetings once a week. In addition, they have to report back to their tutor groups on the outcomes of SRC discussions and issues.

Every year, a SRC president is elected as well as a secretary. Both these pupils have to be from Grade 12 and these are both sought after and prestigious positions in the school.

Other considerations that the SRC entertains are various events during the year such as organising and managing the Valentine’s Dance and the Winter Social.

The SRC applies any funds raised from its events to worthy causes. The headmaster sits with the SRC at their weekly meetings as an observer and to provide guidance and direction.
